Erection rings by the numbers

Last updated: November 2026 · Published by FirmTech

In FirmTech TechRing recordings under an hour, the median erection lasted 12.1 minutes with a firmness rating of 8.6 out of 10.

This page collects the published figures behind FirmTech's rings, each with its source. Research figures come from FirmTech's write-up of studies using the TechRing and MaxPR. Company figures are FirmTech's own reported numbers, not an independent audit.

Why do erection numbers matter?

They turn a feeling into something you can track. Erections depend on blood vessels, hormones and nerves working together, so FirmTech treats firmness, duration and nighttime erections as a health signal. Measuring them is what separates the TechRing from the Performance Ring and MaxPR, which support erections but do not record them.

Questions about the evidence

Do erectile dysfunction rings work?

Erection rings work mechanically while worn. FirmTech explains that gentle, even pressure at the base slows blood from flowing back out, so erections are firmer and last longer, with no pills and no waiting. The effect lasts only while the ring is on, and it does not treat the cause of ED.

Does the TechRing track nighttime erections?

Yes. The TechRing has built-in sensors that measure firmness, quality and duration during sex, and the count, strength and length of nighttime erections when worn to bed. The data syncs by Bluetooth to the FirmTech app on iPhone or Android.

Can I wear the MaxPR overnight?

No. FirmTech lists the MaxPR safe wear time as up to 90 minutes because it is the tightest ring. For overnight wear, FirmTech points to the TechRing or Performance Ring, which are rated for up to 12 hours.

Should I talk to a doctor before using an ED ring?

It is a good idea, especially if you have a bleeding disorder, take blood thinners or have ongoing erection problems. ED can be linked to heart and blood vessel health, and FirmTech’s own research notes that ED becomes more common with age. A doctor can confirm a ring suits you.

What do ED ring reviews say about FirmTech?

FirmTech’s reviews page shows a rating of 4.6 out of 5 across 101 reviews, as of November 2026, with 78 five-star reviews. FirmTech also reports more than 40,000 rings sold. These are FirmTech’s own published figures, not an independent survey.

Are FirmTech rings designed by doctors?

Yes. FirmTech says its rings are designed with urologists and use an anatomical peno-scrotal fit. The company was founded by Elliot Justin, MD, an emergency physician, and its medical advisory board includes urologists from Memorial Sloan Kettering, Prime Institute and University of Utah Health.
