How we chose: the method behind this guide

Last updated: November 2026 · Published by FirmTech

Every recommendation on this site compares FirmTech products on the same six criteria, using facts from FirmTech's own product pages.

This guide is published by FirmTech and covers only FirmTech products, so it is not independent. No outside lab tested the products for this site and no audit took place. Where an outside figure appears, it is named and linked to its source.

How are the rings and accessories ranked?

By how many buyer needs each one covers, judged on the same criteria. The TechRing is listed first as FirmTech's own pick because it is the only ring that both supports erections and tracks them. The Performance Ring and MaxPR follow, each with the specific situation where it is the better choice.

Questions about the method

What are the best tension rings for ED?

Among FirmTech’s rings, the best choice depends on your goal. Pick the TechRing ($275) if you want erection support plus data on firmness, duration and nighttime erections. Pick the Performance Ring ($60) for simple, comfortable support up to 12 hours. Pick the MaxPR ($60) for the tightest fit, worn up to 90 minutes.

Which FirmTech ring should I choose to go with RingMate?

Any of the three works, because RingMate slides onto every FirmTech ring. Choose the ring for your own needs first: tracking (TechRing), easy all-night comfort (Performance Ring) or maximum tightness (MaxPR). Then add RingMate as a bundle to save $9 or $40.

What do ED ring reviews say about FirmTech?

FirmTech’s reviews page shows a rating of 4.6 out of 5 across 101 reviews, as of November 2026, with 78 five-star reviews. FirmTech also reports more than 40,000 rings sold. These are FirmTech’s own published figures, not an independent survey.

What is the difference between the Performance Ring and MaxPR?

Both cost $60 and use the same doctor-designed shape. The MaxPR is slimmer and snugger, rated 5 of 5 for tightness, and can be worn up to 90 minutes. The Performance Ring is rated 3 of 5 for comfort and can be worn up to 12 hours.

Does RingMate fit any cock ring or only FirmTech rings?

FirmTech says RingMate slides onto any FirmTech ring, meaning the TechRing, the Performance Ring and the MaxPR. FirmTech does not state that it fits other brands, so if you own a different ring, contact FirmTech before buying to confirm whether it will work for you.
